Public Access to Legislation Project

Project update, December 2007

The New Zealand Legislation website is scheduled to go live during the current Parliamentary adjournment, with a target of mid- to late-January 2008.

The website's address will be www.legislation.govt.nz, replacing the Interim Website of New Zealand Legislation.

After the New Zealand Legislation website goes live, the Interim Website of New Zealand Legislation will be retained for a transition period.

During this transition period, the legislative data on the New Zealand Legislation website will be brought up to date with the latest legislative amendments. If an Act or Regulation on the New Zealand Legislation website is not up to date, it will display an alert notice that links to the amending legislation. We aim to display alert notices within five working days of the publication of the amendment on the website.

Some of the enactments yet to be updated will be available on the Interim Website with the latest amendments incorporated. Retaining the Interim Website during the transition period will give users the option of referring to which ever site best suits their needs.
