Tables of legislation in force
Tables of New Zealand Acts and Ordinances and Statutory Regulations and Deemed Regulations in Force
The Tables is a printed publication that lists all principal Acts and Statutory Regulations in force at 1 January for a given year, and the amendments that have been made to them. The publicationalso includes a list of deemed regulations and the PCO editorial conventions for reprints.
It is an annual publication, available in hard copy format only, and is available from Legislation Direct.
Online Tables withdrawn
There was previously an online version of the Tables, which was withdrawn on 31 March 2008. It was withdrawn because the functions previously provided by the online version are now provided by the New Zealand Legislation website:
- The browse feature of the New Zealand Legislation website produces alphabetical listings of legislation in force, by specified type (eg Act, public Act, private Act, Imperial Regulation, etc). See How to search and browse for more information on browsing.
- The New Zealand Legislation website is continually updated (see How up to date is this website? for more on the website’s currency), while the online Tables were usually updated three to four times a year.
- The lists generated from the New Zealand Legislation website link directly to the relevant legislation, while the online Tables did not provide any links.
- Links to deemed regulations are now available through the New Zealand Legislation website and are updated monthly.
